In 1973, Paul Golbert opened Pajar’s Montréal factory with a vision: to create high-performance winter footwear that brought together refined design, exceptional craftsmanship, and uncompromising quality.

That philosophy continues to guide Pajar today. Our design and production teams work closely together, balancing form, function, and comfort at every stage of development. Pattern making and styling are completed in-house, while carefully selected materials are sourced from around the world.

Precision in Every Detail

Quality begins with the materials. Every leather is carefully inspected, scanned, and measured before production. Each style is cut using specialized knives, allowing our experienced cutters to assess every hide and position each pattern according to the natural grain of the leather. This considered approach helps maximize the quality, consistency, and character of every finished pair.

Before stitching begins, an internal membrane is fused to each pattern piece to enhance insulation and durability. The pieces are then skived to create precise seam allowances before being assembled by skilled sewers using highly resistant nylon thread. Every seam is taped as part of the waterproofing process.

Once the upper is stitched, it is placed on specialized pre-molding equipment, where heat-activated components form the toe box and counter, establishing the structure of the boot.

Built for Comfort and Performance

Our exclusive shearling insoles are designed with padded insulation and comfort in mind, providing warmth rated to -40°C | -40°F. Each insole is secured to its last before the upper is carefully pulled and shaped over it, creating the precise form and fit of the finished boot.

Excess material is then carefully removed from the bottom of the upper to create a smooth, even surface. High-performance adhesive is applied by hand before the upper and sole are permanently bonded using automated cementing equipment.

A Standard We Stand Behind

Every finished boot passes through our finishing department, where it undergoes individual quality control. The boots are cleaned, brushed, and treated before being carefully inspected for presentation and finish.

The final inspection takes place at the packaging stage, where every pair is checked before being boxed and prepared for shipment.
